Sweetgreen: Food Done Right
Sweetgreen, where have you been all my life!? There aren't too many places that have me coming back again and again to eat like Sweetgreen does. The food there is on another level, so consistent, so healthy and so delicious! After the first time I tried Sweetgreen, I literally went there every day for a week straight! Its definitely one of my favorite lunch spots to go to when I’m out and need something super healthy and quick. They recently made their way out to the West Coast and thank goodness they did because its the best!
The company started in Washington D.C. and has multiple locations throughout the East Coast (click here for the full list of locations). Their first location in LA is located near the Grove on the corner of West 3rd and Laurel St. They also just opened their second location in LA this week, congrats!! Its located in Santa Monica on 4th, between Santa Monica and Arizona, I can’t wait to check it out!!
All the ingredients are locally sourced and measured to keep the food really consistent, no matter which location you go to (click here for the menu, ingredients and calories). My favorite three salads on the menu are: Guacamole Greens, Hollywood Bowl and O.M.G. Omega. If you aren’t feeling like eating one of the salads that are on the menu, you can either make your own custom salad or they also feature seasonal salads. You absolutely need to try a seasonal salad when you have the chance because they’re only there for a short period of time, one of my favorites right now for late summer is the Watermelon + Feta, its really light and refreshing.
The salads aren’t the only thing that are incredible, the house drinks are amazing too! My two favorite drinks right now are: the Chai Iced Tea and Jasmine Green Iced Tea. Both of the iced teas are super light and they don’t have any sugar or calories, that way you can enjoy guilt free!
The next time you’re in LA or in a city where Sweetgreen is located, you absolutely have to go there and grab a salad and iced tea, they are ridiculous!
All the Best,
Mike
