Five Habits To Start Today: Say Goodbye To Diets!

The next time you're contemplating about which diet to do, stop and don’t do it! Instead, go the healthy route and start integrating the following five nutrition habits into your day. You'll never have to go on another diet again by doing these on a daily basis: eating consistently, controlling the carbs, adding protein, veggies and fat to each meal. It sounds so simple and it is, you can totally do it! You will not only feel better, but you’ll look better too!

The Five Daily Habits:

1. When did you last eat?

Avoid going longer than 2-4 hours without eating. Going to long without eating will make your blood sugar to drop and may cause you to eat something you probably shouldn’t.

2. Where is the protein?

Add protein to each meal, preferably a complete protein such as fish or meat. If you don’t have access to a complete protein, you can supplement with a shake or bar, but do so in moderation (Women get 1 serving, Men get 2 servings).

3. Where are your veggies?

Adding veggies to your meals will help you get quality nutrients without the empty calories. You can prepare them anyway that you like, but make sure to have at least 2 servings of veggies with every meal or snack. (One serving = 1/2-1 cup chopped veggies) Your goal is to get to 5-10 cups per day.

4. Where are the carbs?

If your goal is to lose body fat and you just worked out, a combination of starchy carbs and fruits or veggies works great! If you didn’t just workout, avoid all starchy carbs like: bread, rice and pasta. Instead, opt for an extra serving of fruit and veggies.

5. Where are your fats coming from?

A secret to losing body fat is adding fat to your meals. It has more energy than protein and carbs, and also takes more work for your body to breakdown. Make sure to add a combination of good fats like: olive oil, mixed nuts, flaxseeds, fish oil, avocado and meat.

I hope that you have an amazing day, start integrating these five nutrition habits and never have to go on a diet ever again!

All the Best,

Mike
